About the Class

Joined by models Alice and Sally, Beth will guide you through a range of exercises designed to help you connect with what you see, and to draw feelingly. This class is about looking and experiencing the body through drawing, rather than following rigid guidelines or rules.

About Every Body’s Story:

Women’s Body Casting Artist Ellen Downes has cast 30 women’s torsos and painted them gold. The golden body casts will be exhibited alongside the stories of the women behind them.

This is a project celebrating the beauty and diversity of women's bodies and a platform for the stories behind them.

We are rejecting unrealistic beauty standards, debunking myths and raising our voices to share women's experiences and stories that need to be told.

In a world where women's bodies are perpetually objectified, this body of work objectifies our bodies in a beautiful way, on our terms.

Diversity is at the heart of this project. The 30 women collectively tell stories of what it means to live in a woman's body from a range of perspectives. Their stories explore their relationships with their bodies through themes such as body image, motherhood, race, sexuality, menstruation, trauma, coming of age, grief, mental health, disability and self-love.

Join Every Body's Story at Centrespace Gallery in the heart of Bristol to see this powerful collection of golden casts and stories of women.
