‘For Dapper’ Mural, Bristol, 2023.

I was contacted by Lost Horizon to be part of a group of artists painting murals in the venue’s old billboard frames.

Along with Billy Colours, Merny, Mul, Prefab 77 and Mr Penfold, we braved the cold to create a varied range of murals.

Painting in emulsion, spray paint and ink, the reference here is taken from a sketch made in a life drawing class. I often sit in a space with an awkward view, to refine my skills in realising foreshortening. This piece was finished on the day of late sign-writing legend Dapper Signs’ memorial service, and so it became dedicated to him.
